Fusion 3.x runs sluggish on my new MBP - please help

I have 2 systems here... a 24" iMac and a Macbook Pro. The iMac has a faster proc (2.9mhz v 2.5mhz) - both have 4GB ram.

However Fusion 3 runs GREAT on my iMac - I can run 2-3 VM's at a time and the host OS doesn't bog much.

However on my MBP any VM makes the OS run VERY sluggish. Almost unusable. I am currently testing 3.1 RC and it seems about the same.

My memory usage is very high - is that why? How can I tell what I can do to reduce it?

Any help is appreciated.

What's the VM configuration (CPU's and RAM)? What else is running on the host?

1 CPU and 1GB of RAM for a VM is about the max on a 4GB machine.

I had the exact same issue. I had even upgraded to the beta like you. I did a clean install of windows 7 on Fusion and it runs excellent now. I know this isn't a "fix", but you should try to start a clean vm to see if that helps. If it does, then just migrate your information over and migrate to it.
