Fusion 3.1 Killing Network Connections from Host OS (Mac OSX)

Ever since upgrading to 3.1, there are long periods of time where the host OS loses all network connectivity while the guest OS (Windows XP in this case) has no problems. I haven't been able to trace this to anything in the console log, but after I shut down the VM, the network is fine.

Any thoughts or additional trace steps I can take to figure out what the conflict might be?

My guess would be that you assigned the same IP or MAC address to both OS X and the guest. Since these are supposed to be unique identifiers, there will be problems if they're duplicated.

I'm not sure how that would have been done considering this is a VM I created in version 2 and simply upgraded to 3 and then 3.1. It worked perfectly in 2 and 3.

(updated) In the guest OS, it reports a completely different IP and MAC address than the host.
