Fusion 13.5 (Bluetooth) -> VM = MacOS Sierra

OS = Mac Sonoma 14.0

I have 3 VM's (Linux, Windows 11 and MacOS Sierra(10.12) run with 13.0.2 succesfull.

After Update/Install to 13.5 the VMs (Linux and Windows) working fine. Unfortunately MacOS Sierra, Fusion 13.5 doesn't find my Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse.

I tried it with the old and the converted VM. If I 'rollback' to 13.0.2 everything is OK.

Any Ideas? Many thanks in advance for hints.

Best regards,

BJ

Could you post the .vmx file for the Sierra VM? (locate the VM in Finder, right click on it, and select "Show Package Contents". A Finder window will open and you can find that file there.  Zip that up along with all of the vmware*.log and mksSandbox*.log files that you see and we'll see what might be happening.

II just installed a fresh Sierra VM on Fusion 13.5 running on a 2014 Mac mini and Monterey. It seems to run fine and finds my system keyboard and mouse. (keyboard is wired, mouse is bluetooth).

You seem to have 3D acceleration enabled. Turn it off. MacOS Sierra guests do not support 3D acceleration.

I think I was able to reproduce something like what you're seeing. In the Fusion GUI VM's Settings > USB & Bluetooth > Advanced USB Options I set the USB Compatibility of the Sierra VM to USB 3.1. My Sierra VM no longer could find a keyboard at reboot. It just sat there looking for a Bluetooth keyboard to be discovered.. Switching that USB Compatibility back to USB 2.0 restored access to the keyboard.

Hi Paul,

I have disabled 3D acceleration and set USB to 2.0 ... and now it works!

You're my Hero for today :slightly_smiling_face:

Many thanks for your support and Greetings from Germany,

Bernd
