The Fusion menu bar does not show any check marks. For example: When opening the window menu within Fusion 12.1 (Player) it does not show me a check mark which VM is currently being used. This was standard before Fusion 12.
Can anybody confirm this? Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Hi,
Seems to work here?
FWIW, in my case, the host is on Big Sur 11.1 beta.. which reminds me to update it to 11.2 beta.
Is your host running Big Sur?

Yes, it is a Big Sur (11.1) host.
Anyone else?
It is still the same (no check marks) with Fusion 12.2.0 / macOS Monterey 12.0.1 Host. I have two MacBooks with Fusion and the check marks are missing on both machines. Do I need Fusion Pro for the check marks?
Hi,
Sorry, I don't know why you are having this issue.
But I can tell you that it isn't because you are running VMware Fusion Player. I just checked here on a VMware Player 12.1 version and the check mark shows in the drop down menu, like in my screenshot above.
edit: Wondering what might be different... Is your macOS localized?
In other words, is your macOS in English or it is using another language?

Yes, macOS is set to German (Fusion is German too when macOS is set to German).
I think that is the reason! That seems to be a bug in Fusion.
Is here anyone else using macOS and Fusion in another lanuage than English?
Hi,
Looks like it is not because of the German language.
See my screenshot:
Something is different on your host and it is unclear to me what it is.
I tried looking for a setting that could control this, but so far I have come up without an answer.

Very strange. It is the same on two MacBooks. I am using purchased Fusion Player licenses. On one of the MacBooks nothing else is installed yet (just Fusion).
The check marks came back with macOS 12.2.1.
