Fusion 11.5.6 Blank Windows 10 x64 machine, blinking cursor

Hi,

Just upgraded from 11.5.5 to 11.5.6 and now my Windows 10 virtual machine won't boot, I get a blank screen with a blinking cursor (pictured):

I have tried deleting and reinstalling VMware Fusion without resolution.

I am running macOS 10.15.6

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

Is it possible that your VM tries to boot from a non bootable connected virtual CD or floppy or ..

is the boot order changed?

Do you see the vmware logo on boot?

Can you attach a vmware.log file to a reply here?

Hi Wil,

There is a VMWare logo, progress bar then this blank screen.  The virtual machine is set to boot to HD / SCSI on the startup disk setting - is there another place?

I've attached the VMware.log file from the package contents.

Thanks

Hi,

That should be fine... not seeing any specific errors in the log.

VMware Fusion is able to read the virtual hard disk without errors.

One thing I notice however is that the virtual DVD is connected. Can you try to disconnect and see if that helped?

Eg. in menu "Virtual Machine" -> CD/DVD -> Disconnect

Then try booting again.
