Fusion 11.5.5 Breaks local USB To ESXI guest

I've had to downgrade to 11.5.0 because 11.5.5 breaks passing local USB devices to ESXi Guests.

I'm stuck on Mojave because I'm using a Mac Pro 5'1, so I can't upgrade to 12.

It's annoying because 11.5 has a bug where it often brings up SSL failure when connecting to ESXi guest, which is fixed in 11.5.5.

I've tested on Fusion 12 and Workstation 16 and the problem isn't there.

Is this fixed in 11.5.6? theres something about a USB fix in the release notes.

Hi Jabbawok,

What type of devices are you trying to pass through? Can you check if the issue is reproducible with Fusion 11.5.6?

I use USB-Ethernet USB-Serial and USB-Flash.

I just tried and it's still broken in 15.5.7

rolled back to 15.5.0 and it works fine.

Hi Jabbawok,

Would you be so kind to collect a Fusion Support Bundle which demonstrates the issue.

1) Enable USB Verbose logging. Navigate to "Virtual Machine > Settings > Advanced" and make sure the "Enable Verbose USB Debugging" checkbox is checked.

2) Power-on the VM and reproduce the issue one more time

2) Generate a Support Bundle from "Help > Collect Support Information".

3) Upload the generated Support Bundle to VMware's FTP following the instructions in VMware Knowledge Base . Instead of an SR number you can use, say, community-jabbawok to name the directory in the FTP.

Regards,

Kamen
