After installing Fusion 10.1.1 on Macbook pro running OS 10.11.6 having this trouble - cant get a VM Win 7 to start

The Macbook Pro model that you have cannot run VMs on Fusion 10.x. This is because the Intel CPU (Penryn generation) does not have the two required features: Intel Extended Page Tables (EPT) and Virtual Machine eXtensions (VMX) Unrestricted Guest.

You should either install Fusion 10.x on a newer Mac hardware that meets the requirements; or contact VMware customer service to either get a refund or have a licence downgrade to Fusion 8.5.x.
