Frustrating! Fusion Occasionally Needs Terminal Fix to Fix Internet Connectivity

Hello-

I've been a fusion user since 1.0 and have been cursed with the intermittent internet connectivity problem other's seem to suffer from as well. The only way to fix this is to stop fusion, go in to Terminal and execute the following:

sudo "/Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/boot.sh" --restart

I have tried the following to fix fusion:

- Completely uninstalled Fusion and reinstalled

- Built a new Guest OS (always using XP pro latest SP)

- Even reinstalled OS X and brought up to date

- Finally, Called VMWare (which was useless, they were no help and quite rude)

I still have the problem of lack of connectivity about once a week and the only way to regain connectivity is to go into OS X terminal and execute above commands.

I'm using current version of fusion and am still suffering this frustrating problem. Anyone else have this problem or has anyone fixed this yet? I know I'm not the only one as I've found others in multiple message boards.

Thanks!

Please see if is what you're seeing; if so, please follow up with packet traces in that thread.

Hello-

Thanks for the reply. Seems like it might be applicable. I'll wait until the next time it happens, do a ping session and ensure its a DNS (didn't think to check the detailed). If it is in fact the same problem, I'd be more then happy to submit traces and logs.

Thanks!
