Flip-flopping Windows style (WinXP-classic <> Windows Classic)

I recently updated from Fusion 3 to Fusion 5.

I only use Fusion for WinXP.  I prefer the old Windows Classic style.

But since upgrading to 5 the following happens:

- Open Fusion / WinXP as I prefer (Windows Classic).

- Do what I need to do

- I quit windows and shut down Fusion.

          okay so far.

- the next time I launch Windows,

- opens as WinXP classic style (vulgar and ugly)

- I do what I need to do

- I quit windows and shut down Fusion.

Then the NEXT time, it reverts to Windows Classic.

The NEXT time it reverts to WinXP classic

And back and forth.

I've tried re-setting the style (from either of the above)

But the "style togglling" keeps going and going.

It's driving me mad!

Anyone?

I guess I'm not sure what you're asking - as far as I know, there's only one classic theme in XP (and Win7 for that matter) - both look like Windows 2000 did (no rounded corners, no funky buttons).

It almost sounds like you have two VM's.

In WindowsXP you can select WinXP Classic or Windows Classic, the latter being the "look" from Win 95.

(see attached).

two copies?  No, I always launch with a pointer to the sole copy on my system HD (Documents/Virtual Machines).

IAC, that would not explain the "perfect" toggling from one to the other and back.

Ahh, that's what confused me.   It's not Window XP Classic, it's just Windows XP.

I'd be very surprised if this has anything to do with Fusion at all - more likely a windows bug.
