File System problem?

Hi All

I keep getting this error when I try to download and install a new program

this is the error "There is not enough space on the file system for the selected operation"

How do I fix this please? I have uploaded a screen shot of the error

I am on a Macbook Pro

Hope someone can help its very frustrating as I am stuck.

Confirm that there is enough disk space in his/her MacBook Pro. He/She will need to free up disk space. You can do this by launching Launchpad > Other > Disk Utility. Check Free. If there is a need to free up disk space, OS X El Capitan: Increase disk space
