Failed to install vmware-tools on Fedora 16

I have VMWare 5 and I've installed Fedora 16 64-bit.  When I install vmware-tools, it fails with this message:

Detected X server version 1.11.4

Distribution provided drivers for Xorg X server are used.

Skipping X configuration because X drivers are not included.

Creating a new initrd boot image for the kernel.
   Starting Virtual Printing daemon:                                   done
Starting vmware-tools (via systemctl):  Job failed. See system logs and 'systemctl status' for details.
                                                           [FAILED]
Unable to start services for VMware Tools

Execution aborted.

I don't know what it's asking for when it says to look in the system logs.  The command "systemctl status" just gives me an error.

That web page tells me nothing.  It just provides the generic instructions for installing the tools.
