Extra mouse buttons don't work

I agree here. My MX Master 3 doesn't allow the use of the thumb scroll or the back/forward buttons. Which sucks.

To clarify. I am using MacOS, Catalina 15. VMWare Fusion version 11.0.2. The VM is running Windows 10 64 bit.

First, Fusion 11 isn't supported on Catalina.  You need Fusion 11.5 at a minimum.  Try upgrading to a supported version, update VMWare tools and see if that fixes it.
