I am running Windows XP Pro through Fusion on a new MacBook with Intel DuoCore. I am using Fusion for the sole purpose of being able to use Cool Edit Pro.
Even though I select "Line In" through System Preferences, the internal mic is still picking up. I have a condenser mic running through a pre-amp with phantom power into "Line In", but I cannot get audio through the mic, the internal mic picks up through Fusion/Windows XP.
Condenser mic works fine through GarageBand, but I use Cool Edit for news reporting and have done so for years. It has a much better interface.
I have updated sound card driver in Windows. I have tried using different external mics with the same result.
I have submitted support request to VMWare with no response.
Does anyone have a helpful suggestion on how this problem can be resolved?
I do freelance reporting and this is affecting my ability to work.
