I have an evaluation copy of Fusion 5. I am running the latest version of OS X 10.9 Mavericks on a Late 2012 iMac 27" system and when I run Fusion, it opens up the Virtual Machine Library Window but then stops responding. I have to Force Quit the application. Should this work or is there a different copy of Fusion that I can get which will work? I am looking to replace Parallels and would love to use Fusion but can't yet. 😕
Thanks for trying fusion. Fusion 5.0.3 does NOT officially support Mac 10.9 since 5.0.3 was released at March 2013, but 10.9 DP came out at June. However, couples of user on the forum said they run the 5.0.3 fine with Mavericks. I suggest you reboot your Mac and reinstall Fusion 5.0.3 build number 1040386. If it still doesn't work, could you collect and attach the log bundle by Menu Help-> Collect Support Information, or go to ~/Library/Logs/VMware Fusion/ attached the vmware-vmfusion.log here. Thanks for your help.
I have the Lite edition of Fusion so I will assume the issue lies with that. I did reboot and reinstall and had no success. It still locks up after loading the initial window. Log from VMware app, for what it's worth is below.. I'll just pass on VMWare for now and stick with Parallels. I really like VMWare but have to credit Parallels with getting out a working build for Mavericks so quickly.

The log says you are using fusion version 5.0.1 .
Try downloading the latest version of Fusion 5.0.3 from following page directly
Go for light version itself.
Install this update and then try running fusion and your vm
Thank you Avanish321. I noted that however I downloaded the only thing they had linked off the main page. The file was named: VMware-Fusion-5.0.3-1040386-light.dmg and when I right click and get infer on the dmg file, it listed it as version 5.0.3. I assumed this was some error in the logs. I have never installed VMWare Fusion on this computer before either..
I am trying a download once again using the link provided to see if it makes a difference.
the log which you have posted is incomplete.
can you collect diagnostic information and attach the tgz file saved on your desktop in your next reply. ?
To generate the necessary logs please click on Help menu > Collect support information .
a File with tgx extension will be saved on your desktop.
While replying click on use advanced editor to get an option to attach the file.
Unfortunately, the entire application locks (spinning ball) and has to be fore quit. I can not click any menu or do anything with it and therefore can't click the Help Menu.
Also, the download link gave me the exact same file which I have been trying. Curious that the logs show the wrong version number..
Hi DCormack,
You're looking at the logs for the USB arbitrator, which is just one component of VMware Fusion. That component hasn't changed since version 5.0.1, so the log file says it's a component from 5.0.1. The build number, 1040386, corresponds to the VMware Fusion 5.0.3 release, so everything is in order.
It's unlikely that the USB arbitrator log will tell us anything about the problem you're having there, but if you could kindly post your support information bundle as tracywang suggested, we might be able to figure something out from the other logs.
Thanks!

since you are unable to get the info while using the GUI , you can try the manual method.
To manually collect the support bundle in Fusion 5
go to Applications folder
Right click on VMware Fusion.app and select show package contents
Navigate to /Contents/Library/.
Double-click the file VMware Fusion Problem Reporter.tool.
A terminal window will open prompting you to authorize the collection process.
Type in the mac password and hit return key to execute.
This will generate the tgz file and store it on your desktop
