Error while exporting OVF or OVA

Hi,

when I try to export my Kali VM using the OVF or OVA file I get the error "Failed to open file: "path+VMName.vmx"

However, I do not have any problem in running the VM but I cannot understand what is going wrong.

I've tried with this alternative: https://commondenial.com/2015/04/29/vmware-fusion-7-1-1-ovf-tool-error-drag-drop/

but same issue also with CLI.

Also I tried to export other windows VM that I have, but in this case everything ok.

How can I solve this issue? Any help?

It would be useful to provide more details and steps on on re-creating the issue.

When the issue occurs, what else does say in the ovftool.log?

Another option is to use VMware Converter Standalone to do a virtual to virtual machine conversion. Once successful, try "Export to OVF" the converted virtual machine. Do you still get the same error?
