ESXi 5 on VM Fusion

I'm new to VMware and want to start testing the ESXi.  Has anyone had success installing ESXi 5 on VM Fusion?  We have a mixed Apple & Windows environment with all servers being Windows.  I want to create a test environment using a MacBook Pro with VM Fusion and ESXi, and I'm just looking for some input if that's will work, or should I get a Windows laptop do create the test environment.  I've seen some demos using a Dell laptop with VMware Workstation that has ESXi Server installed on it, and was wondering if the same is doable with that Mac.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.
