So I have 4.0 and the final released version doesn't seem to be able to connect to any of my USB devices. Whenever I initiate connect from the menu nothing happens.
Using Windows XP SP 3
I have no problems with USB devices in VMware Fusion 4.x or Mac OS X Lion however...
If you're running Mac OS X Lion, have a look at: USB devices fail after upgrading to Mac OS X Lion (10.7)
Otherwise, have a look at: Troubleshooting USB device connection and functionality in a Fusion virtual machine
Additionally if you want... To help figure out what is what the best way to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the "Collect Support Information" command from the VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > Collect Support Information and then attach the .tgz file it created on your Desktop to a reply post.
I run Lion on MBP 15inch mid-2010 Core i7 with Fusion 4 Win 7 64bit, USB works well just as it was when I had Fusion 3.1.3, no issues there.
My problem wasn't with vmware it seems the Moves software that replaces Suunto Training Manager had really messed up all generic USB support for XP. I had to reinstall the USB driver to get USB devices recognised again. Anyway it all works now.
