In VMware Fusion 2, it seems that I could resize the window (in single window) so that I could just see the single windows program I was working with. The program itself would stay the same size. In 3.0 if I resize the window, the screen is "shrunk" so that I still see the full windows screen, just smaller.
Is there any way to get the old behavior back?
Joe
It sounds like Tools is not working properly (they should make sure the guest resolution is an appropriate size for the window). Try uninstalling/reinstalling Tools.
Hi, I had a different problem with my displays after switching from V2 to V3. I have dual monitors and it worked nicely in V2.x. After I upgraded to V3.0 and then V3.0.1, it would not let me use my dual monitors. No matter what I did to the screen settings, it will show the icons in the setting screen to have Monitor 1 and a smaller icon for Monitor 2. It would not let me change the resolution settings to be the same as Monitor 1. Consequently only one monitor was used for V3.0.1.
Any suggestion how I can use dual monitors for extra screen space?
I have Mac OS 10.6.2 on Mac Pro 2.66 dual quad-core with ATI Radeon HD 4870 card.
Thanks.

Have you selected View > Use All Displays in Full Screen? What guest are you using?
Thanks a million for your help. It is such a simple solution and how could I had overlooked it. Really appreciate your quick response which solved the problem. Also apologize to VMware for my inaccurate accusation here. Sorry.
