Disk space within VMWare Fusion and MacOS

Hi all !

Two problems I have on a Macbook Pro Retina and VMWF5.01 :

I have a single VM on the computer, a windows 7 64bits.

On this VM, I have a single snapshot, that I cant get to erase. When I try, I get a message saying it encountered an error, the error being : nothing.

Second thing, when i check the informations on the VM, it tells me it is using about 40 Gigs of space. But when I look at the image in MacOS, it weights over a hundred !

I did clean up the VM, reclaimed the space, but it didnt move much.

There's no way I have 100Gigs of apps, documents and so on on the VM. So how can I get this space back ?

Many thanx for your input !

To help figure out what is what, the best way to provide comprehensive diagnostic information is to use the "Collect Support Information" command from the VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > Collect Support Information and then attach the .tgz file it created on your Desktop to a reply post.

In the end, I just recreated a new VM. Down to 27gigs now. Feels better 😉
