Hello,
I'm having trouble getting copy/paste to work between my physical Mac and a virtual Windows machine. I've enabled key mapping in the settings, but it doesn't seem to be working. After searching through various posts, I've seen some people suggest enabling copy/paste in "isolation," but I can't seem to find that option.
I'm using VMware Fusion Player 13. Do you have any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
Thank you in advance.
If this is an M1 machine, it's not supported currently.
I really hate this forum software - won't let me edit posts.
If it's not an M1 machine, then make sure you have the current VMWare tools installed in the guest.
There are other M1 limitations documented in both the release notes and the unofficial guide pinned in the documents section of the forum (highly recommended for M1 users).

3 dots in upper right corner of YOUR post/reply... select "Edit Reply"

"Edit Reply" is really flaky if you're using Safari on macOS. For whatever reason (perhaps it's the Javascript that this forum software uses) selecting "Edit Reply" doesn't always work immediately. I regularly have to click on it multiple times before it "takes" and I can edit my reply.
Using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge) on macOS seems to work without issue.
Hello,
thank you for your reply. Yes it is an M1. Do you have a link for the documentation please?
is there any solution to correct this?
is this issue also present on M2?
thank you in advance.
Yup, I click and click and click, and about 30% of the time it actually works.
It's a product limitation that's documented in the release notes. We are waiting for updated VMWare tools for Windows to be released. Until then, copy-paste, shared folders, window resizing, and other functions are not available.
For options and workarounds, check out the unofficial guide posted in the documents section of this forum.
