Changed virtual disk 40GB to 84GB, yet still 40GB, need larger virtual disk space asap

I'm using VMware Fusion on my 2009 iMac i7 2TB HD 8GB RAM.

Had 2.1, just upgraded to 3.1.1. I'm using WinXP SP3.

I use Fusion for DSS and my astrophotography, example here

Recently I had 100's of images stacking, and DSS said needed more HD space, so I re-sized my virtual disk from 40GB to 84GB, but still only shows 40GB on the 'C" drive partition. DSS won't crunch, it crashs.

I know there is something simple I'm just missing, I briefly scanned 6 pages in this forum and can't find a thread, so must be operator error on my side.

Screen shot to show where I'm at, I even made a 2nd 100GB virtual disk, but have not done anything further.

If I could migrate everything to that 100GB virtual disk I'd delete the 40>84GB upgraded disk, or if you show me how to make the 84GB show up in WinXPwhatever is quickest.

Hi Mtbdudex,

Welcome to the forums.

You need to resize the disk partition inside the VM. You can have a look at this kb. I personally used GParted LiveCD and it worked great.

Good luck.

Thx for help, I just got done using EASEUS Partition Master 6.1.1 Home Edition, worked very easy.

Right now DSS is crunching 369 images taken a few days back

I also find this cool seeing 4 processors crunching away...
