Cant see my Apple desktop after install of VMware Tools on Fusion 12.2 running Windows 11 Home

I am unable to successfully install the virtual VMware Tools in VMware Fusion 12.2.   Fusion goes thru the steps for a Typical tool install, it then restarts, and it shows  the VMware Tools are there on the toolbar.  Yet I dont see mirror image of my Apple desktop in Fusion and therefore I cannot open anything on my apple nor can I drag/drop anything from the Apple desktop or vise versa to the Apple desktop [ on BigSur 11.6].  I have removed the VMware Tools, restarted Fusion,  and then re-installed the virtual tools.  Still my Apple desktop is not visible in Fusion.  I have re-installed Windows 11 Home.  Fusion shows VMware tools but they are not working.  The pull-down menu says "cancel install of VMware Tools".   I have removed VMware Fusion and reinstalled it, followed by a Windows 11 Home install, followed by a VMware Tools install.  Yet I dont see my Apple desktop.   Any insights or thoughts to help me resolve this would be appreciated.    Any questions ?

I am having the same issue. I can't get that option as well. And the dropdown option is grey out.

You wouldn’t be happening to be running the virtual machine in full screen mode, would you? That would obscure your Mac desktop if so.

And please don’t mark a post as a solution when it isn’t.
