I need to modify an excel file saved on Mac drive shared with my VM but when I try to save it excel show an error: document not saved.
If I try to save on window document foder it's ok.
How I can solve it?
Sounds you'd have set the shared folder w/ read/write configure? Also make sure on the Mac host you have write access to the folder (like you create this folder in your home folder, then you start Fusion to share it). Also make sure in Windows/guest OS, VMware Tools has been updated (and working) to the one bundled w/ your Fusion.
Which Fusion version you used? The latest Fusion release is 10.0.1 supporting macOS 10.13.2, for the information.
Wondering if you ever solved this. I have the exact same issue, just started for me recently. It only happens with Excel using VM shared folders. I can copy the file locally, edit it, then copy it back - I just can't edit it in place or create new Excel files in the shared folders. In the exact same folder I can create a notepad document and edit it, so it is not a general permissions issue.
I am on VMWare Fusion 8.5.10 because v10 is not compatible with my CPU.
I posted instructions on how to fix this issue in this thread: Instructions for fixing file-saving issue to a shared folder after Fall 2017 Update for Windows (Fus...
