My partition gets the error "Cannot open the disk or one of the snapshot disks it depends on." and will not run. I could use some help and after searching similar entries in the support community I have decided to post my "collected support" file. Any help would be appreciated.

Perfect! That's what I needed. Thanks again.
Hi all,
I've read elsewhere on this site that VMWare go to lengths to tell you that it's likely that your Virtual Machine has been damaged (irrevocably) after a computer crash or some other event, and that you should simply trash that Virtual Machine and start over.
So, whilst they may be right in some instances, what they are not telling you is that when your computer crashes with VMWare Fusion running, it obviously hasn't had time to Shut Down correctly, and what this can sometimes (but not always) lead to is leaving a .lock file(s) inside the contents folder of that specific Virtual Machine.
If I understand correctly, Fusion creates these files when your Virtual Machine is running in order to prohibit any other software from opening the same file and creating conflicts. So when a crash occurs, those 'lock' files, that would normally be deleted on normal Shut Down, don't get deleted, which will then prohibit you from opening that specific Virtual Machine on Restart.
So what you should do is very simple:
Just go to that Virtual Machine in your finder, right-click it and choose Show Package Contents, scroll down and choose any files or Folders that have a .lck suffix and Trash them.
Close the Package Contents folder and reopen the Virtual Machine and, if it really hasn't been corrupted, it should open just as before.
This works for Mac OSX - I did it yesterday - and, presumably, PCs since I got this fix from a PC site.
