I'm trying to copy and paste simple text, but it is not working. I'm copying it on my host and trying to paste into the guest. Both OSs are Mac OSX 10.10.5 and I have the latest VMWare tools installed in the guest. I have both copy and paste as well as drag and drop enabled in the virtual machine properties. I'm running VMWare Fusion Version 7.1.2 (2779224). I've tried searching google for a solution but I don't see others reporting many issues with running Mac as the guest. Is Mac->Mac clipboard sharing supposed to work in Fusion?
Update:
It is also not working from the guest to the host.
Hi,
Thanks for using Fusion. It's a known issue if you copy&paste data more than 4MB.
I'm having the same problem and it's not over 4MB.
Hi,
I tried with Fusion 7.1.2 release build and host/guest were MacOS X 10.10.5 (14F19a), was unable to reproduce this issue.
Please re-install Tools in the MacOS VM with following the steps:
1. Start up the VM and select Reinstall VMware Tools from Virtual Machine menu
2. Select Uninstall from Tools image
3. Reboot the VM after Tools uninstalled
4. Login the VM and select Install from the Tools image
5. Reboot and login again
Part of Tools components could not be overwrited if did not uninstall.
