Can you transfer documents created in Office for Mac to Office for Windows using VMWare Fusion?

I have a Mac and have documents created using Office for Mac.  I have now installed FMWare Fusion 7, Windows 7 and Office 365 Personal on to the Mac but I cannot either access existing files when using windows or transfer them to the virtual drive.  Is it possible to do either?
