Can't load any version of Ubuntu on Fusion

Version of OS X is 10.5.7, version of Fusion is 2.0.4. I am unable to load 32 or 64 bit versions of Ubuntu 8.04, 8.10, and 9.04. It hangs on hardware install. Any ideas? 8.04 and 8.10 previously worked fine.

Thanks in advance!

What do you see onscreen when the boot process hangs? Any error messages at all?

Installing from .iso or CD?

Tried downloading the .iso again? Checked your hard drive for errors? Checked your RAM for errors?

No drive or RAM problems. Loading off of iso, which has been checked and re-downloaded. Hangs on hardware detection. Windows (XP, 7) iso images work fine. Only Ubuntu. Will try CentOS tomorrow.

Is 3D acceleration turned off for your virtual graphics adapter in your VM?

Why do it the hard way? Just download a pre-buit VMware image: http://www.thoughtpolice.co.uk/vmware/

Yup, turned off 3D. Actually it's off by default.

I don't want to download an appliance. I enjoy installing and setting up the OS myself.
