Hi!
This morning, I tried to run VMWare Fusion Pro 12 to generate some reports as I do every week. However, it would not start, and I had to Force Quit it. I tried again - same result. I rebooted and tried again, same thing. I uninstalled it, manually deleted all of the other files from the various Library directories per the VMWare docs, and reinstalled the latest version. Now, at the end of the installation at the "Thank you for using VMWare Fusion 12 Professional", when I clicked Done to complete the installation, it has also just hung with the "beach ball" cursor.
Other than updates to Big Sur, I haven't installed or upgraded anything since I last ran VMWare Fusion.
MacOS: Big Sur v11.2.3
VMWare Fusion Pro: v12.1.0-17195230
Any ideas on how to get it working again? It appears that VMWare doesn't provide (included/complimentary) support any longer for Fusion. ![]()
Thanks!
Karl
Hi Karl,
That smells like this issue:
https://communities.vmware.com/t5/VMware-Fusion-Discussions/Fusion-12-Hanging-on-startup/td-p/281938...
Still don't know what causes it, but apparently it is a "waiting game".
So far what I read from other experiencing the same issue, the issue resolved itself after waiting for a while (sometimes pretty long)
