"Our records indicate that you have no eligible registered products to upgrade. To complete your upgrade order, please register a compatible product."
My VMware Fusion 1.0 is registered. Why am I getting this error when I try to order the upgrade? This is VERY frustrating, especially as I've taken a day off work in order to do this upgrade.
Same here. Seems there are a lot of frustrated users out there. Bad product start 😕
After 35 minutes on hold, just spoke to someone named Patrick who said (and I quote) "We're probably just having some issues with the web site -- we'll probably take a look at it and get this fixed in the next 24 hours."
Well, bang-up job, Patrick. "Probably"? I took the day off from work to do this upgrade and now you're telling me that I may not be able to do ANYTHING today?
Color me less-than-impressed with VMware right now.
The website gave me the same response.
Maybe, tomorrow?
Frustrating.
Ditto, I get the same error. Heck, I was even on the beta for 3.0, and can't upgrade (bought 1.x, free upgrade to 2.0).
Very disappointing.
Same here. At least it seems to be a system-wide issue and not just with my license. I'll try again tomorrow since apparently they are aware of the issue (I also sent them an e-mail). Anyway, I noticed that you can download the DMG file from the Download link. I'll "try" 3.0 when I get home tonight and then hopefully acquire the upgrade license tomorrow once they get their server issues sorted.
Yeah - tried that route too.. Downloaded, but still waiting for a trial email (been about 20 minutes so far).. My guess is that the whole system is kinda hosed right now.
They need to unhose it, then, and NOW -- not 24 hours from now, NOW. The second rep I spoke to (Manu) was even less helpful than the first one (Patrick).
Outsourcing your CS and tech support staff to India is not winning you any points, BTW. I asked a simple question ("Why won't your web site allow me to order an upgrade to 3.0 when my 1.0 is properly registered?") and received a litany of "howevers" and "just a moments" and Manu even referred to an "upgrade to Fusion 4.0".
I now am informed
"Congratulations, our records indicate that you have products eligible for upgrade. Please review the list of
products you own and select which one you would like to upgrade. Please note that you can only upgrade
one time for each serial number you own."
....
But no way to select anything - there is no list
Just an explanation mark in red
Add my name to the list ... I can't upgrade either, doesn't recognize me having any valid licenses. I've been registered since ver 1.0. Great system.:-(
I registered my Serial Number
this really bites, you would think they would be prepared. I registered 2.0 and they cant find that. arrrgh!!!!
I am getting the same message: "Our records indicate that you have no eligible
registered products to upgrade. To complete your upgrade order, please
register a compatible product."
I also have a registered Fusion 1.x . I called and am on hold now...
I'm basically in the same boat. I've registered my serial number and I can see it in my list of Purchased / Registered serial numbers under my account.
When I go to order an Academic Upgrade, which I'm eligible for, my serial doesn't show up (and I get the error in red people here are mentioning). When I go to order the $39.99 regular Upgrade, my serial number IS visible.
Pretty dissatisfied.
Hello,
We are currently investigating the license
issues that customers are having. Please note that we are working
aggresively to identify and rectify the issue as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience in this matter.

ME TOO!
Wow, what a launch.
I don't know why they don't do upgrades like the rest of the free world.
Most everyone else, Microsnot included, let's you just buy the upgrade
software and it checks for a valid previous version when you install it.
If you don't, it's your problem for not having a qualified version installed!!
Now it finds I have registered products, but the web page is fubared, complete with an error message at the bottom.
My guess is that heads will roll over this. What a bad launch.
I'm getting a little bit further on the website, and I also notice that the upgrade subscription is now $59.99 and not $99.99. I'll try again later tonight or tomorrow and hopefully everything will be sorted out by then. There's some egg-on-face to be sure, but obviously this is a popular update and these things happen so I'll see how it sorts itself out. I can wait another day.
