Can't Click in Boot Camp VM

Hello,

I have a 2012 Retina MBP.  Last night I used bootcamp assistant to create a Windows 7 Pro x64 installation.  It worked great, did a full windows update, no problems.  I then used the VMWare Fusion 5 Import Assisant to create a VM which uses the boot camp partition (not an import).  After everything finished - I have control of my mouse - I can move it around, but I can't click (using the trackpad), haven't tried any other input devices.

I reinstalled VMWare tools and rebooted, but this did not fix the issue.  Did some googling, can't find a solution.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

I tried with an external mouse as (rather than the trackpad) and this does not work either.

So this is retarded.  If I put the VM to sleep via windows and then wake it back up, mouse clicking works.  If I reboot it, mouse clicking stops working again.
