Can not import VM Ver 8 on Mac EI caption into VM 11 on mac Mojave

Hi there,

Got new imac pro and upgrade  to 10.14.5.  My existing VM running mac EI caption VM fusion 8.5.10.

Transfered VM file to new imac pro and try to import existing VM machine.  However when choose file the file name

of existing one greyed out ? why?

If you already have a VMware virtual machine, you don't need to Import it.  Just Open it.

Hi there,

Thank you for your help.

But when I try to open VM created by old VM fusion 8.5 it comes up with error:

"Could not open /dev/vmmon:Broken pipe."   Then another message: Failed to initialize monitor device.

I copied the vm across after an clean shutdown .

Update:

By allowing the VM to run from system preference this issue have been fixed.

But I can NOT use unity mode. 

Search through the forum but can not find a resolution?

DId you upgrade the virtual hardware and VMWare tools in the guest?
