Can I do a partial install of vmtools on Solaris 10?

I'm running the latest Solaris Nevada x64 release under Fusion 1.1.1 on a Mac Pro. This isn't supported, but it mostly works. When I install vmware tools, some things work and some don't. The video, mouse, and X.org changes work great. The HGFS module won't load due to a "version mismatch", which isn't a biggie. However, the vmware tools network driver borks the network.

I'd like to do a partial Solaris install of VMware tools, installing only the stuff that works. It's not obvious how to do this. Any hints?

Thanks!

Perhaps a bit off-topic, but is your virtual NIC defined as an e1000 device? Usually VMware tools won't try to install its vmxnet network driver on Solaris x86 or Linux if an e1000 nic is present.
