Cam not working

I have an iMac computer running: Mac OS X version 10.7 (Lion) but since updating to Lion the inbuilt camera does not work when VMware Fusion is open. I have contacted Apple and they say it is a VMware problem.

Has anyone experienced this problem, if so what is the answer ?

it shows up in the menu as

Virtual Machine/usb/Connect Apple Built-in iSight;

and you've checked it shows up as unconnected .

. I don't have Lion in front of me,

but I would check to see if connecting and then  unconnecting

then brings it back to Lion's view .
