Hi,
I am just new to this forum. I installed Fusion 2 on my iMac and then installed XP without a problem. All devices are working according to the XP System overview. When I insert a CD in the drive and click on the CD in Explorer, I get the message "please insert CD". The CD is visible on my iMac desktop, but not in XP. I have not installed any Bootcamp drivers as Fusion did not ask for it.
I have tried in Fusion settings with automatic recognition (it recognises a NEC drive) or with specify drive which list an Optiarc DVD drive. Both do not recognise any disk in the drive.
My wireless mouse and keyboard are working well under XP.
Any ideas on how to get this to work?
At the bottom of the Windows screen to the right there's a picture
of a CD along with some other pictures of printer devices and USB
devices. If you point and click your mouse on the CD image you should
see the option to connect CD/DVD. Select that option and the CD/DVD
on your Mac desktop should disappear and should instead appear mounted on
your windows desktop. If it does your good to go..

Hi,
Thanks for your quick response. I can now see the contents on the disc.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
I have exactly the same problem.
But I don't have a picture of the CD on the right panel.
Any possibility to make it appear?
Thanks in advance.
Alternate method: click on the toolbar "Virtual Machine -> CD/DVD -> Connect CD/DVD".

If you are referring to the device buttons on the status bar as in the image shown in "VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Help > VMware Fusion Help > Navigating VMware Fusion > Overview of the VMware Fusion Interface" and you do not see that then it's because the status bar is hidden and you can reveal it by clicking VMware Fusion (menu bar) > View > Show Status Bar
