CD/DVD drive won't show up on VMWare Fusion.

Recently I have not been able to use the CD/DVD ROM drive on vmware fusion. I try connecting the physical device by clicking the CD rom image on the bottom right, select connect drive, but when i put in a CD nothing happens.

When I go into "My Computer" the drive icon isn't present.

I have tried all the settings changes in Fusion such as (changing to "Specify physical CD/DVD drive" instead of "Automatically detect physical CD/DVD drive") but still no luck.

I can't seem to find any help on this issue. Please help.

Is the CD/DVD connect under VMware Fusion (menu bar) > Virtual Machines > CD/DVD?

In Windows does Device Manager in Control Panel show any flags on the Hardware Tree and specifically under DVD/CD-ROM drives?

Yes, this is the virtual machine's "CD/DVD" Device

There is also a flag on the hardware tree for DVD/CD-ROM drives. The only one listed is the DVDRW for my mac with the yellow flag.

I tried adding new hardware with the following message. "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
