Browser in the Box in a VM with Windows 10

Hello everyone,

On a Mac Pro, I am using VM Ware Fusion to deploy a Windows machine running MS Windows 10. I want to provide the user of this Windows machine with secure access to the Internet using Browser in the Box. In the settings for the VM on the Mac, I have enabled hypervisor applications in the "Processors" settings. When launching Browser in the Box, I get the attached error message. Can someone please let me know if I need to do any other settings on the VM, or in Windows 10 to get it running?

With kind regards
Volker

If you can copy/paste the text of that dialog box into a comment here it will give those who don’t understand German the ability to use a translation tool to be able to help you.

Here is the Text:

What version of Fusion, what version of macOS, and what model of Mac Pro hardware are you using (from "About This Mac")?

If I understand the situation, Browser in the Box is installing a copy of Virtual Box in your Windows 10 virtual machine to run a customized Virtual Box virtual machine.

The developer supports Browser in the Box on Windows releases up to Windows 8. Have you checked with them to verify that it works/is supported on Windows 10?

Since you are attempting nested virtualization, and If you are running macOS Big Sur or Monterey and Fusion 12 on a supported Mac, you may wish to see if the following KB article has information that might be useful https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/80785 . It's possible that the Apple Hypervisor Framework isn't providing some function to the VM that the nested Virtual Box hypervisor wants.
