Hi,
I use my Macbook Air 99% from the Windows partition.
It could be nice to actually sometimes use it from the Mac partition.
I'm currently always booting my Macbook Air to my Windows 7 partition since every tool I tried was bad.
Parallels keeps the CPU at 100% all the time even when doing nothing so you just can trash it, it's useless.
Then I switched to Fusion 4 and the 2Gb RAM limitation made it unusable for my compiler. It could do the thing
for the other apps though.
Also, I tried two configs: import a bootcamp so it's a separated instance. Not helpful
Then I installed it to use my current bootcamp, so modifications made when running Win on my Mac are replicated
in the Windows partition.
The problem with that is that once Fusion was installed, it seemed to have screwed my Widnows signature
since almost 100% of all registered applications asked me to re-register and/or re-activate.
Since I ran off all registrations, I uninstalled Fusion 4 and restored a Ghost I had so I'm up and running, but without Fusion.
Maybe I did something wrong.
Is there any way to install Fusion 4 to use the Windows partition in a manner that it doesn't changes the hardware signature,
allowing me to use all my apps without registering them again (meaning tens of phone calls to the companies, delays, etc...)
If not, then I definitely bought Fusion 4 for nothing
Thanks for any help.

How long ago did you purchase it? You could try to get your money back.
Ok,
unfortunately, that won't work for me. That's too bad.
I can't get money back. VMWare doesn't proceed to refunds. Already asked. That's why I wanted to give it a new try.
And I bought it last October anyway.
Thanks.
Steve

Unfortunately while this is to late in your particular case nonetheless I'd like to mention for others reading this that VMware does offer free 30 day trial serial numbers in order to test drive fully functional downloadable versions of some of their software in order to make sure it suites ones needs before purchasing it. So it is quite understandable that VMware will not offer refunds under certain conditions however I think VMware needs to be more up front about the shortcomings of virtualizing the Boot Camp partition. While VMware Fusion is supposed to handle WPA and OPA for the Microsoft OS and Microsoft Office nonetheless it does not handle any other manufactures product activation scenarios. So in reality what good is virtualizing the Boot Camp partition if you have any hardware hash based signatures being checked by products from manufactures like Adobe, etc., non whatsoever! ![]()
