Black Screen Problem with Fusion 8.5.10 and High Sierra 10.13.6

Hello everybody!

Since yesterday I have the black screen problem with vmware fusion 8.5.10. I found many articles, but only regarding OS Catalina. However, I still have High Sierra, but I noticed, that the problem occurred after the installation of Security Update 2020-002.

Has anyone the same problem and any ideas how to solve it?

The solution to this problem is to open the .vmx file of the virtual machine, and add the following line to it:

mks.enableGLBasicRenderer = "FALSE" 

It fully resolved the issue on my end. I hope this helps.

I found this hint earlier regarding to the same problem under Catalina. Anyway, I tried it, but without any success on my system.

The resolution for Catalina is to upgrade to 11.5 - that's the only supported version.
