Best Way to Backup and Restore a VM?

I need to back up my Virtual Machines, uninstall Fusion COMPLETELY, re-install Fusion, import my virtual machines.

Can someone tell me how to do this or point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Thanks Tim, That was somewhat helpful but I had already read that. It really doesn't supply detailed information about backing up your VMs, uninstalling Fusion, Clean installing Fusion and restoring your VM's.

From what I can tell is that you can create a new VM from an Image. My old VM had so many files that it was hard to tell what was what even knowing what the extensions stood for. I will have to re-install thing now since my most recent VM setting/files were lost in a sea of split hard drive images, snapshots, BIOS files, memory files, etc...

I'm hoping that the uninstaller actually removes all files and the clean install gets rid of my errors.

On a side note; I combined my split drive in to one single image and the VM runs much smoother.
