Basic Fusion 6.0.2 for Mac operating question: Panning/scrolling around guest VM windows

I run Linux Mint as a VM under Fusion 6.0.2 on my Mac (Mavericks).  I think I have successfully installed VMWare Tools within this VM.

If I do not run the VM in full screen mode, I see a partial desktop at some screen sizes.  ie. some icons and regions of the desktop are hidden if I make the VM display go below a threshold size.  Is there a way to scroll/pan around the desktop in this single window, non-full screen mode?  I have tried turning the "Use full resolution for Retina Display" on and off and that does not affect anything.

I've looked around the forum and the Fusion documentation but I can't find anything under the terms I tried.

I have two versions:

Linux Mint, Ubuntu 64-bit - found at http://www.trendsigma.net/vmware

Addendum: This is aka Mint 11 Katya

and

Linux Mint 13, Other Linux 2.2.x kernel - found at http://www.traffictool.net/vmware

I believe this one is the Maya LTS edition

I got both many weeks ago and deleted the downloads after installation so I'm not certain of the underlying image files.  As far as I know, I downloaded packages that were "Fusion Ready".

I looked in the Settings menus of both VMs but there was no further information I could find there.  I can look elsewhere with pointers.
