I'll be really gratefull with your help
How do you have your windows VM configured? I am the IT manager for a Civil Engineering firm, and I have run C3D in VMware workstation (similar to fusion, but for Windows). I would think it should work. Although Civil 3D needs a beast machine to run properly. You may want to make sure you've given your VM enough resources (RAM, etc.) to run it.
We have big improvements for Autocad in the current Fusion 4 release, and it's my understanding that Civil 3D uses the same rendering engine as Autocad, so this should benefit as well. The Macbook Pro with the ATI 6450 is solid in terms of performance, so should be no problems from that end.
1) Be sure to set Virtual Machine - Settings - Display - Accelerate 3D Graphics to "ON".
2) What guest are you running? Performance tends to be better in Windows 7 for Autocad.
3) If you are still having problems, is there an error message? Does the Civil 3D splash screen even appear or just nothing at all?
4) I would install the Fusion 4 trial and see how that works.
