Hi -
I'm running VMWare Fusion version 7.1.1 on OSX Mavericks, with a linux guest running Fedora 21.
Plugging in my HTC ONE E8 and attaching it to linux causes it to continually attach and detach.
It shows up as an MTP device (not USB mass storage).
I tried all of the steps here: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102525...
And none of the quirks helped, I tried these:
usb.quirks.device0 = "0x0bb4:0x0f25 skip-reset"
usb.quirks.device0 = "0x0bb4:0x0f25 skip-refresh"
usb.quirks.device0 = "0x0bb4:0x0f25 skip-setconfig"
usb.quirks.device0 = "0x0bb4:0x0f25 skip-reset, skip-refresh, skip-setconfig"
I turned on the USB "analyzer" and enabled the troubleshooting modes, please see the attached vmware.log file.
This device very likely behaves the same as an HTC ONE M8.
I have a paid and (apparently) registered copy of Fusion, but I wasn't able to find my product to open a support request.
On the linux side, log files show:
