Affter upgrading to 5, the VM is extremely slow

I upgraded from 3 to 5 yesterday. And now the VM is extremely slow. The disk is going crazy with activity. The Hard Disk (SCSI) icon on top is constantly blue, indicating that there is a disk activity. But it doesn't tell me what's happening. Am I supposed to tweak some settings after the upgrade?

Did you upgrade the virtual hardware and install the new VMWare tools?

And is system restore disabled in the guest?

No. But I though that it was part of the upgrade process and would happen automatically. If it has not, how do I do it manually?

Also, how do I check if system restore disable in guest?

I had the same problem moving from 4 to 5.

believe it or not, with the quicktime screen recorder running, it suddenly got faster.

I have a support incident open, but the problem no longer reproduces....

Under the VM settings, compatibility, make sure it's set to 5.  When it's running, under the virtual machine menu, click the update vmware tools menu item (if it's not there, they're current).

Thanks for the suggestion.

I tried that with VMWare support, actually, and that didn't help at the time.
