2 VMWARE XP's on MAC - 1 is slow for disc access

I have 2 XP VMware sessions on my MACBook Pro. Both perform EXACTLY the same and are great except 1 of them, sharing a folder on the MAC, takes about 5x longer to read the files as the other. They both look identical so it's frustrating.

The difference is so noticeable. To open the same spreadsheet in MS OFFice on XP in 1 of the VM's take 1-2 seconds and in the other, takes 10-15 seconds. Ouch. Thoughts? I've been through every setting, shrunk and copied but nothing helps.

Thanks.

I fixed it myself. After 6 weeks with this frustrating problem.... I am not sure exactly what fixed it but it was either ;

1. Updating VMware tools OR

2. Changing how I set the mapped drive

I think it was Number 1. because after the tools update, I had to reconnect to the share and voila'

Perhaps I am having this same problem....   I've tried the "VM WARE tools reinstall"...    didn't fix anything....   what did you do as far as changing how you set up the mapped drive?

My issue is a 15 second issue... the Office app goes "Not responding"  ... and finally wakes up... SO frustrating.
