running snow leapord
Try rebooting the Mac after installing VMware Fusion.
that did not work. i get the same error message. that dev/vmmon directory does not excists. etc. and then can not find device monitor. i did find some info on the blog about this message BUT it was for lynix, and i am running MAC snow leapoerd and the fix mentioned did not work for me
With VMware Fusion closed then in a Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/) run the following command and then open VMware Fusion see if you can run a Virtual Machine without getting the error.
sudo /Library/Application\ Support/VMware\ Fusion/boot.sh --start
Hint: You can copy and paste the command without having to type it.
I had same exact issue.
Tried the terminal command, got all this back, started VM ware, and it fired up as normal! Thanks.
