Whats New in vSphere 4 - Hands on upgrade?

Hello!

In the "Whats New in vSphere" course, do you actually do a upgrade from 3.5 or do you only talk about how it should be done?

Further, do you cover vShield Zones or Data Protection? vApps? vCloud?

There is a whole section on upgrading Update Manager, vCenter, and ESX, all to 4.0. There is a large hands-on lab where all those upgrades are performed, along with updating a VMs virtual hardware and VMware Tools.

From your list, vApps are covered in What's New. There's nothing on vShield Zones, or Data Protection, and vCloud is a concept, rather than a specific piece of technology.

Hi Scott,

If you don't mind me asking, do you know much about IP Pools and how they work with vAPPs?

Hi Nicholas,

This is the most information I've seen "published" on IP Pools and vApps so far - Mike Laverick is writing a VS4 book so he's researching them:
