VMware Site Recovery Manager Pre-Test

I looking to attend the VMware Site Recovery Manager in the upcoming weeks. I just completed the Install & Configure v3.5 back in September. Am I required to take this pre-test? I'm terrible at test taking first of all which showed on my first attempt at the VCP exam reaching only 53%. The pre-test gives you only three chances and I'm wondering what happens if you fail all three times? Would there be a probation period I would have to wait before attempting again? I'm down to my last attempt so I'm preparing more until I'm ready.

In general, people who exceed the maximum number of attempts should contact the Education Operations team (1-866-377-4710 in North America, or email education@vmware.com) and ask to have their attempt-count reset.
