Prometric CVE VT0-VUB exam question

Hi,

I have an employee who attended VMWare bootcamp training at New Horizons and is now looking to take their test.

However, other than scheduling the test, I can't find much info on it. The test id is VT0-VUB.

Has anyone else had an experience with this exam or training? Is the test similar to the test similar to the VCP test?

Thanks!

Mike

I do not know this certification, but look at this thread:

According to a quick Google search, that exam code is used by VMTraining.net with Prometric for the CVE program: http://www.vmtraining.net/cve.php

And that's as much as I can personally tell you about it - it's an unofficial certification.

Scott.

Certified Virtualization Expert exam is 2hr, 80 ques, 75%. Must take the five day, 50hr, intense boot camp which is VMware Infrastructure VSphere 4.0. Although VMware is taught, it is not a VMware sponsored exam or course. It is or supposed to be vendor neutral and rumor says CompTIA may want to take it on in the future. /Roy

CVE is an unofficial certification, that in my experience has little if any value as it is not recognised within the industry in terms of virtualization vendors/partners/recruiters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but CVE was created by providers of unofficial VMware training to try and attach some value to their "grey" courses.

If, and only if it gets adopted by an organization such as CompTia, then it may begin to hold some weight.

Hi Scott,

I'm actually in one of those "grey" courses and it's anything but. 50hours

of INTENSE hands-on, lecture, etc. We actually have an official VMware

course going on across the hall from us which is one day shorter and one of

the main differences is VMware gets down into the weeds a bit more than the

VSphere course which you'd need to know to pass the VMware exam. I take the

CVE on Friday and I'll see how it goes. /Roy

Roy, I didn't say that "grey" courses were bad courses, I was merely commenting on the CVE certification and how it came about and is perceived in the virtualization world. VMware have recently increased their official course up to 5 days to make it a more well-rounded learning experience - and it's a lot less "boot-camp" style than a lot of "grey" courses delivered - ultimately it's a choice that anyone can make as to what course and certification is for them.

Best of luck for your CVE exam Smiley Happy

Scott.

Hi Scott,

Well it's Sunday, two days after I felt like I was rode hard and put away wet. I did pass the exam, however, now the fun starts. /Roy
