Partner or VMware direct?

Hello,

I am interested in taking the vSphere 4 Fast Track. Has anyone taken classes direct from VMware and from a partner? How did expirance vary?

Thanks!

Dislcaimer: I work for a partner (VATC). The experience should be the same or very similar - the same course materials are used, the instructors are measured the same, the lab equipment has to be of a certain specification as a minimum.....

Not all VATCs offer the same experience necessarily, for example I'm proud that Global Knowledge UK (who I work for) have an excellent lab setup in terms of our equipment being of a much higher standard than required (even VMware's own) and the lab documentation that accompanies our lab is also of a very high standard.

Scott.

Hi,

I took the course and enjoyed it. I booked through VMware direct, but it was hosted by a partner. (so I guess I had no choice)

The hours are very long and although I am sure I learnt more than I would in Install and configure, I am not entirely sure that I learnt enough extra to justify the very long hours.

we were on the beta and had VMware sit in for feedback etc . . and it seemed to me that they were not really aiming the course at experienced Admins that wanted to learn Extra . . rather at inexperienced admins with a high work ethic . .wanting to learn more than Install COnfigure Manage would teach them.

I'd say it is worth 20% more than Install Configure and Manage, based on what you learn and a comparison of the syllabus notes.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
