Hey guys
I signed up to take an online class for the VI3 Install and Config
Just wondering for those who took it or if someone knew, whether if there's an alternative option besides using a phone line to listen in to the course.
I was hoping to take the course at home, but I do not have a phone at home, only my cell phone.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks
Hey Snoop,
There's nothing wrong with using your cell except you may run out of batteries. Workaround by keeping it plugged into AC. A headset (wireless or wired) to your cell phone will make you much more comfortable. This is how I used to teach the class (with my cell phone and a wired headset).
If you don't want to use a phone at all, use your computer. Obtain an application like Skype. If you install Skype on your pc, you can dial our toll free number and you're good to go. It's a free call to you and to Skype. A headset combo with a mic is highly desireable in this situation, but they can be two pieces as well...makes no difference to the VoIP software. Prices now are relatively inexpensive at less than $30 and voice quality -- even on the most inexpensive ones -- will be better than on a phone.

I've been using Skype with great success this week to attend a live online delivery of the I&C course. And my Skype balance hasn't lowered even a penny because the call is toll free.
What Phil and Brian said is right. We regularily have students attending via Skype with no problems.
They will have to install Slype, which is free, and they will have yo put some money into their Skype account. 10 Euros or something. That allows they to make calls. Since WebEx is a toll free number they will not be charged for the call, but they won't get their Euros back either.
Hopefully they will be able to use the paymnent for other calls, Skype calls are much less expensive that regular phone calls.

skype sounds like a great way to get the audio.
I did the course from the UK using Skype. it is more than enough for the course.
